The Scottish Government has released a consultation on the Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan. The consultation seeks views on how to best deliver a net zero strategy that is beneficial for Scotland’s workers, households, communities, and businesses.
The plan sets out policy positions and commitments including 20GW of additional low-cost renewable electricity generation capacity by 2030, a 5GW of renewable and low carbon hydrogen production ambition by 2030, and the commitment to ensure the majority of Scotland’s 170,000 off-gas homes and 1 million mains gas homes convert to zero emissions heating by 2030.
NIBE Energy Systems welcomes these commitments echoing our calls for a gas boiler phase out and the ramping up of more efficient heating solutions.
